What is punting? Punting is a traditional open-top, flat boat pushed along the river by a long pole. Cambridge is the home of the leisure punting experience, and there is no better place to float down the river and take in beautiful views. On a guided punt tour, you will glide under nine iconic bridges of Cambridge including the mathematical bridge and the bridge of sighs, and pass through the backs of eight famous Cambridge colleges. Your expert guide will not only steer your boat through the iconic backs, but also provide a historical tour of the sights you will see. This memorable experience is not to be missed! Punting tickets range from £15-£40 per person for a shared tour, depending on the time of day, day of week, and season. Family rates, discount tickets, self-hire punts, and private tours are available at the Tourist Information Centre. The distance of the nearest punting station from the Tourist Information Centre is a seven-minute walk away.
